Sueños Basketball's mission is to contribute to the holistic development of the youth in the City of Lawrence and nearby towns. Our goal is to develop the kid's mindset through basketball by having an educational and sports program that helps them understand the importance of being young people of character and hardworking students.

Who We Are

Sueños Basketball is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan, non-profit organization that focuses on empowering our young athletes to achieve their fullest potential through teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship. Since our incorporation in August of 2015, we’ve worked to establish a vision of a vibrant community where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a supportive environment, fostering confidence, resilience, and lifelong love for sports.

Over 30 Years of Experience

Our coaching philosophy focuses on three pillars: skill development, physical conditioning, and leadership growth. Through structured training and mentorship, we help athletes unlock their potential and pursue their basketball dreams.

José Dilone and his wife, Jacqueline Marte-Dilone, are the co-founders of Sueños Basketball—a nonprofit organization committed to cultivating a passion for basketball while nurturing the personal and character development of young athletes.

With over two decades of professional coaching experience, Coach Dilone has made a lasting impact both locally and internationally. He served as an assistant coach for the Dominican Republic’s National Basketball Team and has led teams across the United States, Spain, Colombia, Mexico, and his native Dominican Republic. He is also the founder of the Pok ta Pok Foundation, a Dominican-based initiative that served over 400 children ages 4 to 18, providing access to education, athletic training, and scholarships for youth in underserved urban areas.

In addition to his leadership at Sueños Basketball, Coach Dilone coaches for Lawrence Basketball and actively collaborates with youth and sports organizations throughout the Merrimack Valley. His coaching and training programs have also reached cities like San Diego, Tucson, and Boston.

Coach Dilone holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and is currently pursuing further studies at the Latin American Theological Seminary. He is also a graduate of the National School of Basketball Trainers in Spain. He and Jacqueline live in the Greater Lawrence, Massachusetts area, where they continue to serve their community through sports and mentorship.

Our coaching staff is committed to providing every athlete with high-level instruction, mentorship, and support.

All of our coaches hold the USA Basketball Gold License, ensuring a strong foundation in player development, safety, and nationally recognized standards. This means every session is structured, purposeful, and designed to help athletes reach their full potential.

We pride ourselves on continuous growth. Our coaches regularly participate in training, clinics, and professional development to stay current with the latest techniques and best practices in youth athlete development.
